This section includes a lot of necessary conditions for large crowds, the safety of all.

A site map will be located near the control headquarters. Stewards will also be at hand to guide and help you.
Volunteering

Have you ever considered volunteering? It's rewarding for a few hours per day, a great way of meeting people and very exciting seeing the festival come together. Please email a brief description about yourself and why you would like to volunteer click here volunteer@lodestarfestival.com

Health and Safety

PA Announcements
If there is an emergency announcement do as instructed immediately.
Do it in a quick and calm manner. Try to make sure others around you are aware of the situation.
In a large crowd you can not always be aware of the circumstances further away from you, in particular near the stage so do please follow the guidance given.
NO crowd surfing or moshing will be allowed, I know the excitement you feel when your favourite band is playing but please remember a severe injury can be a long time in your young life.
A sound warning: Excessive exposure to loud music may cause damage to your hearing.
Strobe or flashing lighting may be experienced at the festival, please be aware of this and care should be taken by any sufferers of these effects.
Items that compromise safety and security will NOT be allowed, naturally!

Stewards and Security

Please be guided by instructions from the stewards if you need information a steward will be pleased to help.
The SIA licensed security staff have been chosen for their experience in managing crowds in a friendly and professional manner.
Searches upon entry will be done at the security personnel's discretion if you decide to refuse then you may not be allowed entry. This is for the security and safety of all of us.

Walking around

The countryside is uneven ground formed by the weather, machines and rabbits digging holes, ditches and deep water ponds. Do not enter the ponds, they are thick with reeds and the water is stagnant. These areas will be shown on the map and are away from the main arena. Tent pegs and ropes are another well know hazard for tripping up.
Pass outs

Check with a member of staff before leaving the site.

Lost Children

Lodestar ticketing policy does not allow sale of tickets to anyone 16yrs old or under. One adult may only purchase up to 4 children's tickets. We are acutely aware of the festival's duty of care for all that enter the site, we urge Parental Responsibility at all times and expect Parents or Guardians to know where their under 16s are at all times. Please arrange your own family meeting point in case you become separated.

Unaccompanied children may be challenged by our stewards and taken to a place of safety if they are believed to be in danger, or believed to be acting in a dangerous or unlawful manner.

Lost Children or parents who have lost a child will be dealt with by the Information Point. Any stewards should be able to assist in the event of a lost child and we have a prescribed procedure for dealing with such incidents. If necessary we will stop all entertainment to put out messages regarding lost children.

If you see another child in distress or also lost, please summon a member of staff as they will broadcast the information quickly by radio across the site.
It is always a good idea to clothe children in bright colours, and give them a whistle and small pocket torch for use at night. If they have a note of your mobile phone number and name in their pocket they can hand it to a police officer.

Pops not alco!

Children will not be permitted into the bar area, if you have a child with you, please use the counter to the side.

First Aid

In addition to many trained and experienced stewards on site there will also be a medical centre located close to the Information Point.

This centre will be supplemented by staff patrolling the site and will benefit from regular visits by a Doctor during the festival – times will be shown on a sign outside the medical centre or please ask at the Information Point for details of timings for the doctor's visits.

All accidents will be logged by our medical team and the certain details handed over to the Festival Organiser to enable us to build a statistical database as to the nature and type of injury and illness experienced at the event. None of the data passed on will be personal and the medical team will comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 at all times.

Welfare

Toilets and hand-washing facilities are available throughout the site. We have a cleaning and maintenance team on site 24 hours a day; if you spot a potential problem, please let a steward know and we will deal with it as soon as possible. Please use the toilet facilities; anyone found fouling the fields, ditches and surrounding landscape will have their wristband removed and be escorted from the site without recourse to a refund.

A number of welfare agencies will be based on or visiting the site during the festival. Their locations will be shown on the map – if you use these facilities please give us feedback regarding their inclusion in future festivals.
Please remember the sun's rays can be harmful; please wear appropriate sun block or cover up – why not cover up with a festival T-Shirt or hat from the merchandise stall?

Free drinking water is available from standpipes on site.

Drugs

At LodeStar you won't need them. The good vibes and music will take you there!

Always be aware of what is happening around you.
Anyone suspected of selling or buying drugs on the site will have their wristband removed and be escorted from the site without recourse to a refund.
Drug taking will not be tolerated and Cambridgeshire Constabulary will be on duty throughout the event.
The welfare of you all is my main concern, so always feel you can approach the staff should you need help in anyway. The welfare tent is also a good place to go if for any reason you need advice or just want to talk to someone. LodeStar cares about everyone!

Disabled people

The site is grassed farmland and tracks for access, having said that I aim to provide a car parking area closer to the site with means of transporting you to the Festival Main Arena.
There will be no concessions and only one person may accompany you on the site transport. Once you have purchased your ticket please email info@lodestarfestival.com
If there is an emergency LodeStar staff will come to your aid.

Lost Property

Please report any property lost to headquarters so its description can be logged.
Always look after your valuables, try to keep them with you at all times and don't leave them on show.
Camping and site safety

It's important to me that you get pleasure from the spaciousness and beauty of the area. It gives us a chance to respect what nature has given us.
The campsite is extremely large and we urge you to take note of some of the identifying features we have placed around the site to enhance orientation within the landscape. Please collect your camping equipment and bags from the luggage drop off area situated near the Acoustic Marquee. In accordance with the Fire Officers advice, please allow a clear 2 metres around each small tent and 5 metres around each large tent.
The Camping site will be have fire lanes marked out and I would ask you to please not erect your tent in these lanes as it will have to be removed. This will also help with regards to walkways and lessen the possibility of tripping on the guide ropes. The campsite is a large area with a catering marquee where acoustic sets for after stage performance will chill you out into the early hours.
Stewards will be there to guide you.

NO offensive weapons or dangerous items will be allowed on site, that's not the idea of a festival.
NO dogs or other animals will be allowed on site.
NO GLASS on site, Use plastic bottles and containers. Why carry a load when we have everything you need here at sensible prices.
NO caravans, motorised homes or camper vans or other motorised sleeping accommodation.

Fire Safety

Raise the alarm immediately you see a fire no matter how small.
NO FIRES will be permitted on site, the environment is precious, more so lives.
There are a number of designated barbeque points around the campsite – please use them and follow the instructions.

Camping stoves are permitted but we advise you to have them checked, for free, at our campsite shop. We will be selling replacement canisters from the campsite shop, but they will only be sold if the stove is brought to the shop and the canisters are fitted by our experienced staff.
NO other form of fuel will be allowed on site.
NO fireworks or incendiary articles are allowed at LodeStar

A team of fire marshals will be on duty around the clock; clearly identified by their uniform. Please comply with their instructions at all times. In addition, many of the stewards will be trained in fire fighting techniques.

Fire points are located throughout the camp site for your safety and are clearly marked by a sign on top of a tall pole – they will be visible from all angles. The equipment there is provided for your safety and the safety of those around you; anyone found recklessly or negligently interfering with safety equipment on site will have their wristband removed and be escorted from the site without recourse to a refund.

Toilets

I feel it is very important to have plenty of toilets on site that are cleaned and serviced regularly. Please try to use them in a correct manner as it's more pleasant for others and the people cleaning them.
The toilets are the only place you should use for this purpose and stewards will be at hand to request you do so.
Any peesistant offenders may be asked to leave the festival.
Soap and paper will be available to wash your hands, please do not be wasteful and feel free to bring any servicing need to the attention of the cleaning staff. Gender signs will be well displayed.

The Environment

Litter on the ground it's a mess, if you put it in the marked recycling bins it has a future use. It shows you care for the environment of us all.
Lodestar has a policy of minimising waste at the festival and, where possible, will seek to recycle or use bio-degradable products throughout the site. We will have a permanent team of litter pickers and recyclers on duty at the event – please work with us by keeping the site tidy and putting your waste in the marked receptacles provided. Please do not mix different grades of waste as this makes more work for our staff.

Waste and recycling bags will be available from Camping Control.
Do not leave small metal objects and none organic items on the ground it is dangerous to other festival goers and will stay in the environment long after the Festival has finished!

Noise

The layout of the stages and the timings published are part of our license conditions with the Local Council and, as such, are not flexible. Stages will not run over time and curfews will be strictly adhered to. This is to ensure a great festival experience for all on site, but also to protect the interests of our nearest neighbours.
Please have consideration others.

Food and Drink

Here too the festival ethos is the wish for stall holders to give quality, value and a wide experience in taste. My wish is not to cause or have high food prices so why worry about carrying and looking after cooking equipment or spending precious time away from the festival in a supermarket.

Drink

NO glass items are allowed on LodeStar's site. Drinking water will be allowed but must be in plastic bottles.
Drinking water will be provided on site at all times and clearly signposted, if you are taking it from the stand pipe taps please ensure you are using a clean and suitable container. Water is very important and you should drink regularly, you will enjoy the festival far more.
Alcohol

There will be a number of bars on-site selling drinks at a reasonable price. Please do not bring any glass with you.
Only alcohol purchased at the festival may be consumed in the stage arenas. Any that you bring should be for your own personal use, excessive amounts will not be acceptable.

Age. (Challenge 21).
If you look under age the bar staff will ask you for a positive form of ID so please remember to bring a photo ID such as a Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) or a photo driving licence. The bars managers reserve the right to refuse to sell alcohol to anyone at their discretion.
Please do not feel put out when the bar staff refuse to serve you if you can't prove your age!
Enjoy yourselves, but bear in mind that if you appear to have drunk too much you will be refused service at the bars. Drink enough water and keep hydrated.
There is no point in coming to the festival and you don't remember it or you slept through half of the performance!
Food

There will be a complete assortment of food provided by vendors chosen for their quality, presentation, value and hold a hygiene certificate. They will belong to a trade association that is meticulous in its guidelines to members.
You shouldn't need to leave the festival site to get food and drink else where, it could take several hours by the time you return. You have paid to be there so enjoy the time.
There will be local grown and other organic produce to eat. Pure and natural is a big thing for me!
Again just to remind you, please put any waste in the correct bin for recycling, not only does it show your care for the immediate festival environment but also on a wider scale.
Remember each time you do something good it can spread, like a smile!
Merchandise

There will be a selection of items and essentials for you to buy on site so don't worry about bringing loads with you, travel light!
