Young Lives work for children, young people and families within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Our aim is that children and young people can lead happy, healthy and safe lives and maximise their potential. We are improving the lives of children, young people and families across the county. We have a multimedia vehicle called the Jam Van which works with young people helping them learn music, design, I.T and film production skills. The Jam Van also runs a project within Peterborough called Families Count which helps families, often from deprived areas, to communicate and work together as a family. We have an empowerment worker, who works to empower young people in society, give them a voice and the confidence to use it. We also offer training and CRB checks for youth groups and voluntary organisations. Registered charity 1114745
The NHS provides significant funds to run a hospital like Addenbrooke’s but with the fast moving pace of medical science and technology it is just not enough. Charitable donations therefore remain vitally important in order to keep Addenbrooke’s at the forefront of medical diagnosis, treatment and research. Staff from Addenbrookes are putting in a huge amount of personal time above their already high workload at the hospital in preparation of attending LodeStar with fun and excitingly innovative ideas to grab your attention in aiding the purchase of life saving equipment. So ACT now!

Cambridgeshire Search and Rescue (CamSAR) assists Cambridgeshire Constabulary in the search and recovery of vulnerable missing persons: a child, an elderly person suffering from dementia or even someone who is considering taking their own life. The team also assists the local ambulance service during extreme weather conditions to ensure medical attention reaches those located in remote areas. In all cases, an immediate response is vital.
Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all search technicians are volunteers, trained to national standards in comprehensive Search and Rescue techniques. Our training also includes first aid, navigation and communications. The team has its own radio communications system along with specialist resources including a kayak and mountain bike unit, whilst individual team specialists include paramedics and trackers.
As a registered charity CamSAR relies entirely on donations from the public and local businesses and receives no government funding. All donations and money raised go directly to the running of the team.
