PAUL RICHARDS – THEATRE

Paul Richards is a drummer and playwright based in Cambridge. As a drummer, Paul’s extensive studio and live experience has seen him play shows all over the UK, playing everything from heavy rock to silky jazz, from performing with folk duos to forty-piece choirs. Credits include the iTunes Single Of The Week for November 2010 (drumming for Ethan Ash – ‘Tried To Get Rid Of Me’) and recent airplay on BBC 6Music for an album he co-wrote and performed with Helen Arney. As a playwright Paul is about to embark on his fifth Edinburgh Fringe run, and has also seen his work performed at The Brighton Fringe (four years running), RADA, The Hen And Chickens Theatre and The Buxton Fringe. Paul’s work has been published in both the UK and Canada, and he’s currently working on producing a YouTube series of his work titled, ‘The Paul Richards Playhouse’.
Paul is delighted to be booking the acts for the Ents Stage at this year’s Lodestar Festival. Impressed by both the quality of music and entertainment at last year’s event, 2011 will see the non-music stage host its most diverse range of acts to date. With both award-winning established comedians rubbing shoulders with new artists, a premiere of a new musical and top-quality improvisational comedy all among those ready to entertain the festival crowd, Lodestar 2011 is already looking rather spectacular.
